Common questions
Why isn't this an app?
Because you don't want another app. You want to know your batch is fine without opening anything. Krausen lives in email and SMS — the apps you already check. The web form for logging readings is the only "UI" you ever see.
Will it work with my hydrometer / refractometer / Tilt?
Yes. You type the gravity in. Tilt and iSpindel integrations are on the V2 roadmap and will arrive in the Brew tier.
How is this different from Brewfather?
Brewfather is a full app. Krausen is a notification. Brewfather expects you to come look. Krausen comes to you. If you brew 30 batches a year and live in their app, Brewfather wins. If you brew 5–15 batches a year and forgot to log half of them, Krausen wins.
What does the AI actually do?
It compares your gravity curve to thousands of fermentation profiles for the style and yeast you specified. From that, it predicts your FG, estimates your packaging window, flags conditions associated with off-flavors, and writes a plain-English action list. Try the analyzer — you'll see it in action.
Is my batch data shared?
Anonymized fermentation curves help improve predictions for everyone. Your email, batch names, and recipe details stay private and are never sold or shared.
